Manchester City are still being investigated for breaches of financial fair play more than two years after the Premier League started investigating according to the Daily Mail.
The English champions elect have long had to deal with their finances being closely analysed such has been the wealth pumped into the club.
City, who can be crowned champions today, have twice been punished by UEFA's FFP rules, but different governing bodies employ differing variations of the rules.
UEFA fined City €60m in 2014 before later reducing it to €20m and the club accepted it without appeal.
In 2019 though the Premier League club were hit with a two-year ban from the Champions League and fined €30m for 'serious breaches' of FFP.
It was later overturned on appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the fine was reduced to €10m for failing to cooperate with UEFA's investigation.
On the pitch City have continued to go from strength to strength as they eye a third title under Pep Guardiola.
That would be a fifth Premier League title and the club's owners also oversaw a sixth Carabao Cup win recently.
Their desire to win the Champions League is well documented and they will bring a 2-1 semi-final advantage back to the Etihad next week.
"We can start to put the champagne in the fridge — not to open yet, but to think about it," said Guardiola.
"I will take a look at the (United v Liverpool ) game. I'm focused on PSG but I will take a look at the game. What happens, happens but the most important thing is not the fact that you need them to be champions.
"The Premier League is already there, it is in our hands. We need one more victory, two more points. If we don't win it tomorrow, we will try to do it next week.
"We have four games and we need two points. Four games to be champions."
