Man City tunnel cam captures Man Utd coach's tactical message to Scott McTominay

Manchester United beat bitter rivals Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad on the weekend.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial netted twice before the half hour mark, but the Red Devils dominated the entire match bar the final five minutes, in which Nicolas Otamendi netted a consolation.

Up top Manchester United boast equally impressive strikers to City, and the Red Devils' defence is arguably better at the moment, given the injuries to Pep Guardiola's side.

But it is in midfield where Manchester City excel.

In the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Rodri, Fernandinho, and Ilkay Gundogan the Citizens have some of the best midfielders in the world.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was well aware that his relatively inexperienced midfielders would have to be at their very best if they were to have any chance of standing up to City's.

And it seems Manchester United's main focus was very much on drilling the middle men, before and during the game.

Manchester City have released tunnel cam footage on their YouTube channel following the Red Devils' win over the Eithad club.

And in it Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna can be seen pouncing on Scott McTominay the moment the half time whistle blows.

The pair are then seen walking up the steps to the United changing room together, with McKenna relaying the game plan.

Much of the conversation is inaudible, but McKenna can be overheard instructing McTominay to "stay close enough to him," echoing Solskjaer's game plan to press City hard and not allow their midfielders space in which to get creative.
