Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made his transfer stance clear ahead of the January transfer window next month.
City have already agreed to the £55m sale of Ferran Torres to Barcelona and there has been speculation he could plan to reinvest that money and use it to bring a new forward to the club.
And it comes following reports City are "ready to pay" Erling Haaland's release clause at Borussia Dortmund.
Elsewhere, the club are said to have rejected a loan offer for one of their young stars from newly-rich Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

Loan bid rejected
Manchester City have rejected a loan offer from Premier League rivals Newcastle United for teenage wonderkid Cole Palmer, it has been claimed.
The Athletic reports Newcastle officials asked Manchester City over the possibility of taking Palmer on loan in January.
But their hopes of bringing in the youngster have been dashed with Manchester City ruling out any move for the player with Ferran Torres about to be sold.
The report claims Newcastle "were told that the teenager features in Guardiola’s plans for the coming months".
Guardiola makes stance clear
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will not be using the funds generated from Ferran Torres' sale to bring a new striker to the club in January.
Guardiola's side have been linked with some of the top strikers from across Europe ahead of next month's transfer window, but it appears no moves will be made until next summer.
It comes after the club's failed attempts to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane last summer and reports linking the Citizens to the likes of Erling Haaland and Dusan Vlahovic, among others.
But Guardiola has moved to put those rumours to bed, with no new forward additions now likely to arrive early next year.
"We won't bring in a striker in January," said Guardiola. "It's not done officially [Ferran Torres' transfer], I know they are negotiating, it's close, that's all. When the club announces it's done."
City "ready to pay" for Haaland
Contrasting reports have claimed City are ready to meet Erling Haaland's release clause and deal a blow to rivals Manchester United by securing the striker's signature.
Bild [via Sport Witness ] claim City are "ready to pay" the release clause of Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland, which will activate next summer and is reportedly worth €75m (£63m).
The report claims United and Real Madrid are also involved in the race to sign Haaland, although it's not out of the question that he may sign an improved deal to stay an extra year in Germany.
