Man City transfer round-up: Lionel Messi 'offer made', Pep Guardiola addresses Harry Kane

Jack Grealish finally completed his £100 million move to Manchester City.

Normally the shattering of the Premier League and English transfer records is enough to dominate the headlines for weeks.

However, Grealish's move from his boyhood club to the Pep Guardiola's winning juggernaut may have been completely missed, after Barcelona's bombshell announcement regarding Lionel Messi.

Despite, accepting a 50% salary pay cut, the Catalan's are extraordinarily over salary cap, resulted in La Liga prohibiting the Argentinian's new deal.

This means a new saga could be about to hit the Etihad Stadium.

We take a look at the biggest transfer stories emanating from the Blue side of Manchester.

Guardiola talks Kane interest

Manchester City's intense pursuit of Harry Kane has seen the England captain fail to report for pre-season training.

The Citizens see the 28-year-old as the perfect man to lead their line, following Sergio Aguero's contract expiring at the end of last season.

When it comes to transfers, Guardiola normally keeps his cards close to his chest, but he was surprisingly blunt when asked about his interest in Kane.

"If they want to negotiate, many clubs would like to sign him, we are not an exception. We are very interested in him, of course we'll try," said the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager.

"He is a Tottenham player. If Tottenham don't want to negotiate, it is finished."

It was a strong warning shot to Daniel Levy by Guardiola – could it be now or never for Kane to join City?

City to lose Silva?

With so much focus being paid to who could be coming through the revolving Etihad doors; a key player is likely to be heading out via the Etihad exit around the back.

Midfielder Bernardo Silva has been one of the Citizens most underrated players, providing City with the ball retentions and transitional skills that keeps the side ticking.

Guardiola confirmed the Portuguese maestro will be allowed to depart City if he desires, according to Daily Telegraph journalist James Ducker.

Silva has been a City player since signing from Monaco for £45 million in 2017.

He has been linked with a move to current La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, who have reportedly been tracking the 26-year-old.

Messi reunion

There will be very few transfer sagas in history which will dominate the transfer conversation more than the future of Messi.

Barcelona's announcement that Messi's time with the Blaugrana is over, hit the footballing world like an asteroid.

Now the Chinese whispers regarding who will sign the six-time Ballon d'Or winner are beginning.

A sensational report from French outlet Le10Sport.com , believes the group who owns the Citizens, The City Football Group have made City a concrete offer.

The report continues, stating a three-year contract has been offered to the Argentina captain.

While many sources believe Paris Saint-Germain are in the driving seat for Messi, this report from France has come as a huge surprise.

All we know is, this saga of the ages is only just beginning.
