Man City transfer round-up: Interest sparked for Umar Sadiq and Jack Grealish latest

Manchester City secured the Premier League title last season and also went the furthest they have done in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's team reached the final but lost 1-0 to fellow English club Chelsea thanks to a Kai Havertz goal.

The Spaniard is desperate to get his hands on the European trophy for City and he is making moves in the transfer window to ensure it happens.

Top targets for City seem to be England duo Jack Grealish and Harry Kane with both deals looking possible after the conclusion of the Euros.

Who will City sign this summer? Comment section

Grealish set to join City

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish is said to be signing for City after the conclusion of Euro 2020.

It's been reported, initially by the Daily Mail, that the club are willing to pay £100m for the star.

While nothing has yet been confirmed, it is suggested he is keen to play alongside Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne.

Outrage at Kane swap deal

The suggestion that Raheem Sterling could be swapped for Harry Kane has angered former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher.

Reports claim Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants £150m for the England captain but with Sterling wrapped into the deal the price could come down.

And the pundit doesn't believe the rumours as Sterling could sign with higher-achieving clubs.

Carragher wrote for The Telegraph : “I can’t believe I have read some reports suggesting he could be a makeweight in a deal to take Kane to City.

“With respect, do people think Sterling is at a point in his career where he would join Spurs? Are they serious?

“If he was available, top Champions League clubs would be queuing up for him.”

City interested in Umar Sadiq

Man City are said to want to enter the race to sign UD Almeira's Umar Sadiq with five other clubs interested in the star.

The forward has been impressing in the Spanish second division and City see the player as a decent replacement for Sergio Aguero.

City are in the search for a new striker and if their Kane deal doesn't get over the line, Sadiq could be the front runner.

Whoever does replace the star will have big shoes to fill as upon his departure Guardiola shared an emotional tribute.

He said: “We love him so much. He’s a special person. He’s so nice. He helped me a lot … We cannot replace him, we cannot.

"There are many players in this club – Joe Hart, David Silva [are others] - who helped us to be this club. We have his legacy. He showed his quality in 30 minutes.”
