Man City transfer round-up: Erling Haaland blow as Barcelona offer Ferran Torres swap

Manchester City have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Erling Haaland, according to reports.

It comes following reports linking City winger Ferran Torres with a move to Barcelona in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Catalan giants are said to be struggling financially, however, and so could offer City another player as part of a swap deal to ensure the transfer goes through.

And after turning his City career around with a sensational run of form so far this season after being linked with a move away last summer, Bernardo Silva looks set to be rewarded for his recent performances.

Here are all the latest Man City transfer rumours.

Have Your Say! Who do you want Man City to sign in January? Let us know in the comments here.

Silva set for reward

Manchester City could hand midfield man Bernardo Silva a new contract worth £300,00 per week, according to reports.

Silva was linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium last summer, with Atletico Madrid reported to have made an offer while the player was also reportedly touted as a makeweight in the offer for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.

But according to The Sun, Silva could now be handed a bumber new contract following his impressive form so far this season which has seen him bag seven goals in 17 appearances.

Barca offer swap

Barcelona want to offer Manchester City the opportunity to sign contract rebel Ousmane Dembele in exchange for Ferran Torres, it is reported.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the Catalan giants are struggling to meet City's valuation of Torres and so want to make Dembele part of the deal.

Dembele's contract in Spain expires at the end of the season so including him in the deal for Torres would at least allow Barca to get some value out of his departure.

Haaland blow

Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

City are expected to move for the Norwegian forward in the new year after failing to land Harry Kane last summer after Sergio Aguero left the club to move to Barcelona.

But now BVB CEO Aki Watzke has confirmed he is aware of interest in the player from Real Madrid – meaning Pep Guardiola's side could miss out on the signing.

Watzke told Bild [via Sports Illustrated ]: "It doesn’t matter where you go, everyone talks about Erling Haaland.

"The only thing I know is that Real Madrid are very interested in his signing.

"I could name you other 25 teams, but I know for a fact that Madrid are interested."
