Manchester City could be set to land one of their top targets with reports suggesting they are leading the race for striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Pep Guardiola's side have made no secret of their need for a top-class centre-forward following their failed attempts to sign Spurs captain Harry Kane during the summer transfer window after Sergio Aguero's departure from the club.
Their search has reportedly led them to Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, although a striker who has been impressing in Scotland has also been tipped to slot into Guardiola's side well.
It comes as club legend Fernandinho has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

Fernandinho departure dismissed
Fernandinho has "no chance" of leaving Manchester City during the January transfer window, it has been reported.
The midfielder has been a mainstay in the City midfield since his arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, but is now 36 and his contract expires at the end of the season.
That has led to him being linked with a return to his native Brazil, with Atletico Mineiro rumoured to hold an interest in the player.
But ESPN Brasil's UK correspondent João Castelo-Branco [via Sport Witness ] reports the player will not be moving on in January.
Celtic forward 'suited' to City
Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi has been tipped to one day star for Manchester City.
Football Scotland reports that pundit Pat Nevin rates the Japanese forward, who only moved to Celtic Park last summer.
Nevin told The OTB Football Show: "I think he'd be best suited for a Liverpool or a Manchester City.
"He'd work really, really well there. I suspect he would probably have to take a step before he made that one.
"He would go to one of the other clubs lower down the table, similar to the way Van Dijk did. From Southampton to Liverpool.
"Furuhashi is a player. I used to go on quite a lot about John McGinn and Kieran Tierney. I've always felt they were as good as there is in the business."
City "lead race" for Vlahovic
Manchester City reportedly have the "best chances" of signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports.
The Serbian striker has impressed in Serie A, equalling Cristiano Ronaldo's record of most goals scored in a single calendar year this weekend.
He has been linked with clubs across Europe, including Ronaldo's former side Juventus.
But La Repubblica [via TuttoJuve ] reports City "have the best chances of acquiring the transfer", while Juventus "aren’t in the front row" for Vlahovic, which could be a big boost for Guardiola in his bid to land a striker in the January transfer window.
