Man City transfer round-up: Club eye Euro 2020 star and set to land Barcelona defender

Manchester City could move to bring in for one of the stars of Euro 2020, according to reports.

Pep Guardiola has made no secret of the fact his side needs a top-class centre-forward and have previously targeted the likes of Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.

But City could now turn their attention to Euro 2020 goal of the tournament winner Patrik Schick, it has been reported.

The club could also move in January to sign a Barcelona full-back, with Ferran Torres' £42.5m transfer the other way now said to be "90 per cent done".

Torres deal "90 per cent done"

Ferran Torres is edging closer to sealing his move to Barcelona, which is now "90 per cent done", it has been reported.

The struggling Spanish giants have been widely linked with a January transfer window move for the City forward following Xavi's appointment as manager last month.

The new boss at the Nou Camp is said to want to add more width to his side and sees Torres as the perfect addition.

And now, according to Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez Haya [via Sports Mole ], the transfer is nearing completion with Barca ready to pay £42.5m upfront and another £4.25 in add-ons.

Barcelona full-back targeted

Manchester City are said to be the favourites to land Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest,

Spanish publication El Nacional, Barcelona could sign off on the player's departure if they can recoup the £21m they paid Ajax for his services in 2020.

The report states: "Pep Guardiola has decided to continue using Joao Cancelo on the left-wing, and has set his sights on the former Ajax star to compete with Kyle Walker."

And Barca president Joan Laporta is also said to be willing to listen to offers in January to help resolve the Catalan side's recent financial struggles, the report also adds.

Schick eyed

Euro 2020 star Patrik Schik could be targeted by City if they fail to land one of their primary targets up front, it has been reported.

The Czech Republic forward's extraordinary, long-range strike against Scotland was named the goal of the tournament at Euro 2020 and he could now be set to leave Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, according to Fichajes.

The report states that City are "looking at options" and are considering a move for Schick having failed to land Harry Kane last summer.

But the club would have to beat the likes of Juventus and Borussia Dortmund to the player's signature, it adds.
