Man City training squad vs Tottenham revealed

Fernandinho, Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy have all trained ahead of Manchester City's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Fernandinho missed the Blues' 3-1 Premier League victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday with a slight injury but the 33-year-old is in contention to return to the midfield for the visit of Spurs.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was the only first-team member to miss the session, with the Ukranian left-back having missed the Blues' last three games with a thigh problem.

City were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Liverpool last season by an aggregate score of 5-1, though City's chances of reaching the semi-final stages for the second time in history remain very much in tact.

The Blues have a one-goal deficit to overturn against Spurs after Heung-Min Son's 78th-minute strike went unanswered in the first leg last Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola provides Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling injury update ahead of Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Pep Guardiola makes big Champions League claim ahead of Man City quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur

City are on course for an unprecedented quadruple of trophies this season, with the Carabao Cup already won and the FA Cup Final against Watford awaiting Pep Guardiola's side next month. City are locked in the tightest Premier League title race in five years with Liverpool, though Guardiola is confident in his side's ability to negotiate the demands of competing on three fronts.

"I was aware last season that we would not be able to do what we have done, especially in the Premier League," he said.

"I am the most surprised guy in this organisation because I didn’t expect to have 83 points with five games to play.

"The target is 98 because otherwise we will not be champions.

"I know how difficult our fixtures are and we play Tottenham and then the derby at Old Trafford and Burnley. All the games are tough.

"We don’t have rest. We play nine of ten or 11 games more than Liverpool and I love this challenge."
