Man City tour congestion eased by Premier League Asia Trophy rule

Pep Guardiola will be able to completely change his team when Manchester City take on West Ham United in the Premier League Asia Trophy.

The Premier League champions are underprepared for Wednesday's game after problems with their flight to Shanghai meant they only landed in the Chinese city on Tuesday afternoon, just over a day before the fixture is due to take place.

City stayed in Abu Dhabi on Monday night in a bid to have the players as physically prepared as possible for the game despite the less than ideal preparations. And no player will be forced to trudge through 90 minutes in Nanjing as the rules of the competition allow for 10 substitutions to be made.

With a 25-man squad featuring three goalkeepers, Guardiola has the resources to be able to change every one of his starting XI during the course of the game if he wants.

The Blues trained in Shanghai on Tuesday evening and will head to Nanjing on Wednesday, where they will stay after the game before heading back to Shanghai on Thursday for another three nights.
