Man City told which player they should target next following Erling Haaland transfer

Manchester City may need to add a left-back to their squad this summer following the signing of Erling Haaland.

That's according to former City full-back Bacary Sagna, who otherwise believes the Blues are well stock in every position. Pep Guardiola's side made a head start on the rest of their rivals this summer by announcing they have agreed a deal to sign Haaland before the window has even opened.

The Norwegian sensation will be signed in a deal that is expected to cost the club approximately £86million once agent fees and bonuses are factored in, with the actual transfer fee standing at a bargain £51million. Haaland has scored a remarkable 86 times in 89 games for Borussia Dortmund and will replace the goals that City lost with Sergio Aguero's departure.

An out-and-out striker was one of the few area lacking in Guardiola's squad and Sagna believes that left-back is the only other that needs strengthening in the summer, naming AC Milan's Theo Hernandez as an ideal signing.

"They don't have to target anywhere; they are complete in every position," he told the Manchester Evening News, in association with Bet365. "Maybe Left-back if I had to cover one position. But still, they have been doing well. But left-back they don't have a natural left-footer, so that would be the one position.

"I like Theo Hernandez; he's playing really well and has potential. He has a bright future."

Sagna also expects Haaland to make his presence felt at the Etihad.

"I think he will have a great impact and will fit in well," he added. "He likes to press he likes to fight and he is clinical. For a long time now, City will have a tall striker so regarding crosses it might change.

"It has been difficult for the team to cross but that will change now. Haaland scores a lot with his head, so he will fit in, he's the perfect player for City. He's probably the best young striker with Mbappe. Benzema is the best but those two will be fighting for years to be the best."
