Manchester City fans have unsurprisingly labelled a new striker as the club's priority in the summer transfer market.
City are enjoying yet another excellent season and remain in contention to claim a historic treble of their own. It will be tough, though, as Liverpool are sitting just three points behind them in the Premier League table with nine games remaining and the two titans will also face off in the FA Cup semi-finals. Thankfully, they've been kept on opposite sides of the brackets in the route to the Champions League final but it wouldn't be surprising to see them meet in Paris in May, either.
No matter how many trophies the Blues finish the season with, they would still be among the best teams in world football and they could solidify their place yet further with some strong signings once the window reopens. MEN Sport asked City fans 'which position do Manchester City need to prioritise in the summer transfer window?' and an overwhelming majority of 87 per cent of the 624 voters opted for a striker.

That's hardly surprising considering a natural No.9 is the one gap in the City squad. Sergio Aguero's departure in the summer left them without an out-and-out striker, with Gabriel Jesus converting into a winger, but the Argentine's injury record the season before means they have been effectively playing without one for even longer.
It hasn't thrown Pep Guardiola's side off its stride too much, as City still romped to the title last season and made it to their first-ever Champions League final, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva all filling in the role. However, the lack of a player you can almost guarantee to stick the ball in the back of the net, to finish the guilt-edged chances, has proven costly in some important matches.
Thankfully, City are more than aware of this. They failed in their attempts to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham last season so have instead turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland. Though the club remain cautious about their chances of signing the lethal frontman after being stung before, they are now the front runners in the race to do so.
In second place with 9 per cent of the vote came left-back. City have struggled with the position for a number of years but instead of signing a new one have opted to adapt other players to the role instead. Aleks Zinchenko was originally a midfielder, centre-backs Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte have played there when needed and Joao Cancelo is more at home on the other flank. However, the Portuguese has been incredible wherever he has played recently which has lessened the need to spend money on the position.
Only 3 per cent of fans believe another new midfielder is the priority and the remaining 1 per cent opted for 'other.'
