Man City told they're a perfect fit for Celtic star and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have been told they would be a perfect fit for Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi, who has been in superb form up in Scotland.

The Japan international joined the Glasgow giants during the summer, having made the move from Vissel Kobe, and has gone on to score 16 goals and five assists in 25 appearances.

Many fans now view Furuhashi as the best player in the Scottish Premiership, and his form is likely to draw some interest from south of the border.

And former Chelsea and Everton midfielder Pat Nevin believes the 26-year-old would be a perfect fit for either City or Liverpool, should the Premier League’s top two come calling.

“There are a lot of clubs that will be watching him right this second. I think he’d be best suited for a Liverpool or a Manchester City. He’d work really, really well there,” Nevin told Off The Ball.

“I suspect he would probably have to take a step before he made that one. He would go to one of the other clubs lower down the table, similar to the way Van Dijk did. From Southampton to Liverpool.”

Elsewhere, forgotten City full-back Yan Couto is being linked with a move away from the Etihad, with Bournemouth lining up a summer move.

Having arrived at City in 2020, Couto subsequently went out on loan to Spanish club Girona last season, before joining Portuguese side Braga on a temporary deal for the current campaign.

The Brazilian is yet to make a senior appearance for City, having signed a five-year deal with the club, and is likely to struggle to get into the side next season, with Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo firmly ahead of him.

The 19-year-old may therefore have to look elsewhere again in the summer, with Bournemouth reportedly eyeing him up.

Journalist Rudy Galetti (relayed by Sports Illustrated) has claimed the Championship club has put Cuoto on a list of ‘possible reinforcements’, with the Cherries looking at a potential loan next season.
