Man City 'to re-open contract talks with Ilkay Gundogan' and more transfer rumours

Manchester City will re-open contract talks with Ilkay Gundogan after the FA Cup final, reports say.

Gundogan still has another year on his contract, but City have been unable to agree an extension to that deal so far leading to speculation the club may cash in on him this summer.

But after Gundogan started 13 of City's 14-game winning streak to secure the Premier League title, talks are set to resume after Saturday's FA Cup final, according to Goal.

No new contract has been mentioned at this stage, but the report says there is a willingness from both sides to reach a deal to suit everyone.

However, defender Nicolas Otamendi could be set to leave the Etihad this summer, with Atletico Madrid said to be keen on his signature.

AS (via Sky Sports) say City defender Otamendi is wanted by Atletico with long-standing centre-back Diego Godin departing this summer.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport’s David Ornstein says City will battle Manchester United to sign Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

But if City do go for the highly-rated England U21 international, their interest in Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell has cooled, Ornstein says.

Finally, Mundo Deportivo (via SportWitness) say City are one of the clubs in the running to sign Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

The report says the Ajax defender will sit down with his agent after Ajax’s final game this week to discuss his options,

They include Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG and ‘perhaps Manchester City’.

However, Marca (via Sky Sports) claim Barcelona are set to wrap up the signing of De Ligt before the start of next season.

The reports says De Ligt has been assured of significant game time and will be the long-term successor to Gerard Pique.
