Manchester City will look to shake off the drama following the European Super League fiasco by securing victory against Aston Villa to take another stride towards Premier League glory.
Manchester United's victory against Burnley on Sunday has narrowed City 's advantage to eight points heading into the final six games of the season.
Villa will provide a stern challenge though, with Dean Smith's side having a chance of securing a spot in next season's Europa League.
However, former United striker Michael Owen is backing Pep Guardiola's side to pick up what could be a decisive three points at Villa Park.
"The elusive quadruple may be out of sight for Manchester City; however, a win against Aston Villa would set them up perfectly ahead of this weekend’s Carabao Cup Final against Spurs," Owen told BetVictor.
"The Villans come into this having won only one of their last six league matches and interestingly, City have followed up every defeat with a win this season.
"City have been ruthless in their pursuit of Premier League glory, so I expect them to be as professional as ever at Villa Park. It’s a narrow win for the visitors for me."
The clash against Villa marks the start of a crucial week for City, with the Carabao Cup final against Tottenham at Wembley following this week.
City are then set for a Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, with the first-leg taking place in the French capital.
