Man City team vs Southampton includes Foden and Laporte

Pep Guardiola has recalled Kyle Walker, Fernandinho and Phil Foden to his Manchester City team to face Southampton, after the disappointment of defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.

City can restore their 14 point lead at the top of the Premier League with victory over Southampton tonight, and Guardiola has made changes in order to try and return to winning ways.

Ederson retains his place in goal, with a defence of Walker, Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias and Aleks Zinchenko infront of him.

John Stones and Joao Cancelo drop out, as does Rodri with Fernandinho returning in midfield.

Joining Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne keeps his place, with Ilkay Gundogan also selected.

And in attack, Bernardo Silva and Foden return, with Riyad Mahrez completing the side.

Guardiola's changes mean he can turn to the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, and Raheem Sterling from the bench.

Man City starting XI vs Southampton: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho (C), Gündogan, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Foden

Substitutes: Steffen, Stones, Sterling, Jesus, Agüero, Rodrigo, Torres, Mendy, Cancelo
