Man City team vs Fulham predicted as Pep Guardiola given major injury boost

Premier League football is back on Saturday and with it the final stretch of the season that will determine just how successful Man City's year will be. Will they claim an historic quadruple or have to settle for just the Carabao Cup? It's all on the line.

If City are to claim all of the trophies up for grabs then it's going to be an incredibly difficult task as April brings a hectic month of fixtures with nine games in 30 days.

City will face Tottenham three times in the league and Champions League, compete in a Manchester derby and play in an FA Cup semi-final within the month and it all kicks off with a trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternooon.

With so many intense fixtures on the horizon it must come as welcome relief to Pep Guardiola that he is now picking from a fully fit squad again.

Man City get major injury boost vs Fulham in Premier League fixture

Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, John Stones, Vincent Kompany and even Benjamin Mendy all returned to training within the week and are in contention to return to action.

All of City's international stars also returned from playing for their countries unscathed - despite Serbia's best efforts to destroy Leroy Sane - as well.

Only Fabian Delph is currently unavailable.

Fulham are on a dreadful run of form, having not won a game since late January and while performances have improved under caretaker manager Scott Parker, following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri, results certainly haven't.

Man City's race for the Golden Boot - and what it means for Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero

The Cottagers look certain for relegation as they're 13 points off safety with seven games remaining and with the leakiest defence in the league which has shipped 70 goals it's hardly surprising.

City haven't failed to score against Fulham since 2004 and shouldn't find much trouble in doing so again but despite the fragile state of the opposition Guardiola is unlikely to take chances with his team selection going into the business end of the season.

Ederson will undoubtedly start in goal and the Blues boss may also field his first choice defence of Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte and Aleks Zinchenko.

Mendy may be back in contention but it would be difficult to drop Zinchenko who has emerged as City's breakout star of the season and cured City of their left-back troubles with some excellent performances.

As always Guardiola is impossible to second guess and when it comes to the midfield he could go one of two ways. Does he rush Fernandinho and De Bruyne straight back into action against a team in which they're not really needed or does he rest them with more important games coming up?

The Blues boss has often spoke about how the best thing for the Brazilian is getting game time to 'find his rhythm' so he may come straight into the side in defensive midfield but De Bruyne may be left on the bench to come on towards the end.

Fernandinho could be partnered in midfield by Ilkay Gundogan and David Silva.

This would free Bernardo Silva up to play in the more advanced position on the right-wing where he has been so good for City this season and also allows the in-form Raheem Sterling to switch to the left where has been devastating from.

Sergio Aguero, fresh after two weeks rest after not being called up by Argentina, will almost certainly start up-front.

Predicted Man City XI vs Fulham: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Gundogan, Fernandinho, Silva; Bernardo, Aguero, Sterling.

Predicted substitutes: Muric, Mendy, Kompany, De Bruyne, Sane, Mahrez, Jesus.
