Man City team to face Tottenham includes Laporte as Dias and Aguero on bench

Rodri and Ruben Dias have recovered from a knock and a fever respectively to return for Manchester City in their Premier League fixture with Tottenham - but Dias is only fit enough to make the bench.

City are 21 games unbeaten since last facing Spurs, and have won their last 15 - including last weekend's smash and grab at Liverpool. That result took them ten points clear of Liverpool with a game in hand, and the champions' latest defeat against Leicester means City can go 13 ahead of Jurgen Klopp's faltering side today.

However, Spurs have found ways to beat City in recent meetings, and Pep Guardiola will know today's meeting will be one of the biggest threats to their unbeaten run.

In the absence of Dias from the starting XI, Guardiola has called upon Aymeric Laporte to help stop Spurs' threatening attack.

Ederson starts as usual, with a defence of Laporte and John Stones, with Joao Cancelo and Aleks Zinchenko at full-back.

In midfield, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva join Rodri in a trio that has become crucial to City's recent run.

And in attack Gabriel Jesus resumes in the centre, with Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling in support.

Guardiola can call upon Sergio Aguero from the bench as the striker returns to the matchday squad.

Man City starting XI to face Spurs: Ederson, Cancelo, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko, Rodrigo, Gundogan, Bernardo, Sterling (C), Foden, Jesus.

Substitutes: Steffen, Walker, Dias, Aguero, Torres, Mendy, Mahrez, Garcia, Doyle
