Man City team news vs Fulham confirmed as Stones starts but Walker misses out

Manchester City are without Kyle Walker for Saturday's fixture against Fulham.

Following Tuesday's hard fought goalless draw with Porto in the Champions League, City will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the Premier League and build upon their 5-0 hammering of Burnley last week.

They have been handed a comfortable fixture to do so, as they will be facing another prime relegation candidate in Fulham at the Etihad.

However, City will have to get the three points without right-back Walker, who is not involved in the match-day squad. Joao Cancelo has taken his place in defence, with Benjamin Mendy operating on the opposite flank.

After his impressive display last weekend, John Stones has been given another chance to continue his Blues redemption and will start in the heart of defence alongside Ruben Dias.

Pep Guardiola has made six changes to his side from the trip to Portugal, with the majority coming in the attacking third of the pitch. While the ever-present Rodri has retained his spot in the base of midfield, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne have come in for Fernandinho and Bernardo Silva.

Raheem Sterling is the only survivor in the front-three, with Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus being reinstated to the starting XI for Phil Foden and Ferran Torres.

Man City starting XI: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling.

Substitutes: Steffen, Laporte, Bernardo, Torres, Fernandinho, Foden, Garcia.

Fulham starting XI: Areola; Aina, Andersen, Adarabioyo, Robinson; Reed, Anguissa; Lookman, Loftus-Cheek, Reid; Cavaleiro.

Substitutes: Rodak, Mitrovic, Cairney, Ream, Lemina, Bryan, Kamara.
