Man City supporters identify bargain of the century after Manchester United victory

Manchester City supporters are head and shoulders above Manchester United - off the pitch as well as on it.

The Blues ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sané to successfully clear what will surely prove to be their greatest remaining hurdle in their race for a maiden title defence.

United offered a level of resilience in the first half but City's quality told after the break, with Bernardo setting the tone.

League assignments against Burnley, Leicester and Brighton await the Blues before the FA Cup final against Watford on May 18 as City look to record an unprecedented treble of domestic trophies.

Bernardo, who took his season's tally to 13 at Old Trafford, is among the nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year award and City fans on Twitter were keen to point out the £43 million fee the club paid Monaco for his services - which is proving to be one of the club's best deals to date.
