Man City striker Sergio Aguero to avoid punishment for Sian Massey-Ellis incident

Sergio Aguero is not expected to face any retrospective action for an incident with assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis in Manchester City's Premier League win over Arsenal.

Aguero was making his return from injury in the victory, and played a key role in City's winning goal on his first start of the season.

The striker lasted 60 minutes as Pep Guardiola tries to manage his return to full-fitness, but he was in the headlines after the game for an incident during the first half when assistant referee Massey-Ellis awarded a decision against him in Arsenal's favour.

Aguero looked in disbelief before placing his hand on Massey-Ellis' shoulder as the pair walked away.

Guardiola dismissed the incident after the game, saying: "Come on guys. Sergio is the nicest person I have ever met in my life. Look for problems in other situations, not in this one."

However, despite Aguero coming in for criticism for his actions from pundits and sections of the public, it is understood there will be no retrospective action taken against him as the action was not deemed an aggressive one.

That means there will be no chance of Aguero missing any of City's upcoming games through any suspension from the incident.
