Man City striker Sergio Aguero named Premier League transfer of the decade

Chris Sutton believes Man City forward Sergio Aguero is the best signing of the previous decade in the Premier League.

Aguero scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon to surpass Thierry Henry's record of 175 goals to become the most prolific overseas player in competition history , and also go past Alan Shearer's hat-trick record in England’s top-flight.

The Argentine has now scored 177 goals for the Blues and Sutton believes he is the closest thing to Shearer.

“Oh yes,” Sutton replied when asked on BBC Radio 5 Live whether he was the best signing of the previous decade in the Premier League.

“I think it is fair to say when City signed him people were questioning him. Who is he? Can he score the goals?

“The impact he has made. He will go down as one of the all time greatest strikers of the Premier League.

“The thing I like about him is that he is never satisfied with a goal or two. He always wants more and more.

“It is never enough for him and that is why he is so good. And he is the closest thing to Shearer out there.”
