Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha has joined Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht for a season-long loan.
Nmecha, 21, has risen through the academy ranks and has made three senior appearances under Pep Guardiola. However, the forward has struggled for goals in competitive football.
He scored just four goals in 44 appearances for Championship side Preston during the 2018/19 campaign and then failed to find the net last season in spells with Wolfsburg (12 appearances) and Middlesbrough (13 appearances).
Kompany, confirmed as head coach after officially retiring from playing, will be hoping to spark the player back into goalscoring form. The Belgian's knack for improving young players was appreciated while he was at the Etihad.
Nmecha becomes the latest City youngster to head out on loan as their season takes shape for next season. Lewis Fiorini has joined NAC Breda for the season, the Dutch second-tier club who have a partnership with the Blues.
