Man City striker Gabriel Jesus explains penalty thinking with Brazil

Gabriel Jesus bounced back to help Brazil into the semi-finals of the Copa America.

The Manchester City striker had missed a penalty in the last game against Peru, leaving the player "****** off" and his coach sad for him after a display that was otherwise good.

Against Paraguay, Jesus missed a good chance in normal time to win the tie but stepped up to score the winning penalty in the shootout after Roberto Firmino had missed.

“In the last game I didn’t look at the keeper and I hit it hard straight away and the goalie made a good save,” the striker said .

“Today I did it my usual way, I looked calmly at the keeper and I could see him moving to the left and I side-footed it the other way.”

Jesus and his Brazil side will take on Argentina in the semi-finals on Wednesday after Sergio Aguero and co beat Venezuela. Chile will take on Uruguay or Peru in the other semi-final with the final taking place next Sunday evening.
