Man City stars jet to Ibiza for Treble celebrations as three stars left to party at home

Manchester City's stars have hit Ibiza as the celebrations from their historical Champions League win continue in style.

The club will parade the Premier League, FA Cup, and newly won European trophy, through the streets of the city on Monday night- and there could be some bleary eyes on the bus after the club gave permission for them to board a private jet to the Balearic island. A host of stars joined the trip although boss Pep Guardiola oped to stay at home.

Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Stefan Ortega also remained in Manchester, instead continuing the party in their own way. The trio instead opted to eat at local Chinese restaurant Tattu on Sunday night, and were joined by other staff members.

The post-match celebrations following City's 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul were also extensive, with the players not leaving the field until close to 1am. And back in the dressing room it was Jack Grealish seemingly at the heart of the fun, seen sinking beers and belting out songs whilst Erling Haaland was pictured smoking a cigar.

Both those stars headed out to Ibiza, as Grealish did last year after City had claimed the Premier League title. There was barely time for their feet to touch the ground, taking the flight shortly after landing back from Turkey on Sunday afternoon.

The manager though decided to head for home for the night, having been able to reflect on finally landing the one trophy that many pundits and fans believe will define his legacy at the club. It's the second time in his career that he's been able to celebrate a treble success, having achieved the same with Barcelona in 2010/11.

But according to the Daily Mail , those who flew out have been warned by City bosses that they must return in good time ahead of the parade. Guardiola and his squad will depart from Tonman Street, Deansgate, at approximately 6.30pm.

The bus will take a route through St Mary's Gate, Cross Street and King Street before finishing on the corner of Princess Street and Portland Street. DJs positioned along the route will play music throughout and keep fans entertained during the hour-long journey, creating what is expected to be a carnival atmosphere.

The squad will then take to a stage on Oxford Street to address the fans and further showcase their trophies, after the Champions League silverware was taken onto the plane on the way back from Istanbul. In 1999, Greater Manchester Police estimated that at least 500,000 saw Manchester United ’s open-top bus parade.

But whilst the party is still ongoing, Guardiola's focus has already turned to further success in 2023/24. And after the final win, courtesy of Rodri's second half goal, he revealed the City hierarchy had already outlined their main goal for next season.

“Please don’t talk to me about going again," he joked. "My chairman told me the Champions League final is in London next year - and I can’t tell you what I said to him! I am a good manager - thank you Pep - but I can’t win a treble every single year. Maybe people will now give us credit for winning five Premier Leagues. Maybe we can now build a museum to show off all of our trophies.”

Following the parade, a number of City's stars will then report for international duty ahead of the upcoming Euro 2022 qualifiers. England play Malta on Friday, with the likes of Grealish, John Stones, and Kyle Walker all expected to be involved.
