Man City star Rodri sends title race warning to Liverpool after Premier League win

Man City midfielder Rodri thinks his side can still reclaim their Premier League title despite Liverpool's eight point lead.

The Spaniard scored an incredible strike during Pep Guardiola's side's 4-1 win over Burnley on Tuesday evening.

Following the routine win, which lifted City to within eight points of Liverpool, Rodri was asked about his team's chances of retaining a third consecutive top flight title.

The 23-year-old, who has been one of Guardiola's standout players this term, responded: "All of it. Simple as that.

"Until the maths say we can’t win the Premier League we are going to fight for it and you’re going to see the best version of Man City until then."

Rodri was also asked about his recent transition to the Premier League following his big money transfer from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

He said: "I have the first one, two months of adaptation myself and now it's going to be the best version of me.

"It's not easy to feel in this position but I'm learning, Pep helps me a lot.

"Now it's going to be the best version of me, of my performance, and of course the result helps to have that confidence. I'm feeling good."

A win against Everton at Anfield on Wednesday night would see Jurgen Klopp's side climb 11 points clear of Man City.
