Man City star Raheem Sterling takes aim at Piers Morgan by reminding him of 2015 post

Raheem Sterling has taken aim at Piers Morgan on social media for a tweet he posted about him five years ago.

On this day in 2015, Sterling completed his £49million move to Manchester City from Liverpool, a deal which was heavily scrutinised by pundits and supporters at the time.

Plenty from within the game felt City had overpaid for the winger, who made it clear he was moving to Etihad to claim silverware.

One of those who was quick to hit out at the deal was Morgan, who tweeted at the time: "If Raheem Sterling's worth £49million then I'm an Aardvark."

But now hitting back at the tweet, Sterling wrote: “now this is even funnier Piers.”

With Morgan replying: "Haha, touche! I meant you were worth a lot MORE than £49million, Raheem... obviously."

Since joining City, Sterling has won two Premier League tittles, the FA Cup and four league cups, and is now valued at close to £160million by the CIES Football Observatory.
