Man City star Kevin De Bruyne nominated for Premier League player of the month award

It's been an incredible month for Man City star Kevin De Bruyne and his performances have been recognised with a nomination for the Premier League player of the month award.

City have had to endure a hectic month of fixtures which did contain two disappointing defeats to Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, all but putting an end to their title defence.

The Blues did pick up four victories in December, however, and De Bruyne played a starring role as he started in every game.

In six appearances he picked up three goals and four assists, which also included a particularly dazzling performance against Arsenal in which he had a hand in all three goals and was unlucky not to score a hat-trick.

The brilliant Belgian would be a worthy winner of the gong but he faces some stiff competition from the other seven nominees.

Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is another front runner with his four assists, single goal and four clean sheets in a row for Liverpool.

Jamie Vardy and Danny Ings were in red hot scoring form throughout the month, with both bagging five goals in six games.

Adama Traore has also been scintillating for Wolves, with City being on the receiving end of his pace and skill in the 3-2 defeat.

The remaining nominees Dominc Calvert-Lewin of Everton, Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster and Norwich's Emi Buendia have all also provided vital contributions to their team as well.
