Manchester City Women's captain Steph Houghton has compared Kevin De Bruyne to Steven Gerrard.
Houghton was part of the Sky Sports pundit team for City’s clash in the Premier League against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
And Pep Guardiola’s side continued their impressive form with a dominant first half display at Villa Park.
A double from Riyad Mahrez handed the Blues a 2-0 lead after just 24 minutes before Sergio Aguero added a third four minutes later.
De Bruyne’s cross was then turned in at the back post by Gabriel Jesus on the stroke of half-time for number four.
And Houghton believes the way Belgium runs with the ball at his feet is similar to the way the former Liverpool captain did.
“I think we have seen this time and time again, especially this season,” the England skipper said.
“His pace and power to get the ball out of his feet just reminds me of Steven Gerrard, the way he runs with the ball.”
