Man City star graded '10/10' after huge victory over Chelsea

Manchester City delivered their most complete performance of the season in Saturday lunchtime's 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola exacted revenge over Thomas Tuchel, whose Chelsea side had gotten the better over City in their three most recent meetings, including last season's Champions League final.

Tuchel set up his side in a defensive 5-3-2 formation and succeeded in stifling City until Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring with a heavily deflected effort.

From there, City took full grip on the fixture and could have easily had two or three more goals. Summer signing Jack Grealish would have been disappointed to not add to his single Premier League goal in City colours after going through one-on-one with Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy.

Unfortunately for Grealish, the Senegal international stood strong in the middle of the goal to block a tame effort that proved untroubling.

On the other side, City's backline was imperious for 90 minutes, with Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias especially impressive. The Portuguese duo combined Dias' steel with Cancelo's creative flair. One of the outstanding moments of the fixture was an outside foot pass from Cancelo that narrowly missed the target.

And City icon Rodney Marsh took to Twitter to express his appreciation for Dias' performance, which he labelled worthy of a ten out of ten.

The Portuguese international took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 93.4%, won one header, took 83 touches, won one tackle and made four clearances in a battle with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
