Man City star Bernardo Silva reveals how Man City players know Kevin De Bruyne will provide an assist

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has hailed team-mate Kevin De Bruyne's ability to pick a pass, insisting the team's attackers know that an "assist will come" when he is on the ball.

Since joining City back in 2015, De Bruyne, who produced in an impressive display in Belgium's heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to France in their UEFA Nations League semi-final last week, has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself as one of the very best creative midfielders in the world.

The former Chelsea man's ability to spot passes that nobody else could is nothing short of outstanding, highlighting why he has racked up 41 assists in all competitions since the start of the 2019/20 season.

De Bruyne, who is yet to register an assist in seven appearances for City so far this season, is capable of delivering the goods from a variety of different areas on the pitch, whether it be out wide, on the cusp of the striker's shoulder or when dropping deep, proving just how gifted a creator he is when the ball is at his feet.

With his ability to create chances a sight to behold, fellow City ace Bernardo has waxed lyrical about De Bruyne, admitting that City's forwards know a chance will present itself when he has the ball at his feet.

"It depends where we are on the pitch but, definitely when Kevin has the ball, the forwards know that the final pass and assist will come," the City ace told Football Daily.

"You try and make movements to the goal, because you know how good he is on his last action, last pass.

"When he gets the ball from the halfway line, you know that it can be the final pass. So you just try and help him with the good movement, and the pass will come."

Although he has spent much of his career operating as a winger, Bernardo has tended to operate in the centre of midfield so far this season, pulling the strings and looking to assist De Bruyne in making things happen.

Although just like De Bruyne, Bernardo is still searching for his first assist of the season, his presence in City's midfield so far this term has most certainly been felt and recognised, with his performances having earned special plaudits.
