Man City 'stance' on re-signing Chelsea and Liverpool target Romeo Lavia and more transfer rumours

Manchester City will decide not to pursue re-signing Southampton's Romeo Lavia after Saints were relegated from the Premier League, according to reports.

Lavia left City last summer for St Mary's in a £12.5m deal and has ended up making 33 appearances for the Hampshire side. However, the 19-year-old is poised to be playing in the Championship next season following the club's relegation from the top flight.

As a result of Southampton dropping out of the Premier League, sales are expected over the summer as players seek to avoid playing in the Championship and potentially keep their place in the top flight. That could be well the case with Lavia.

Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for the midfielder. The Times reports that Saints could seek more than £40m for the 19-year-old.

However, City are not believed to be in the running for Lavia's services, having sold him last summer. There is reportedly a clause in his contract which means City could match any bid made for Lavia, but it appears Pep Guardiola's side will not be taking up that option.

Elsewhere, City have been linked with a move for Josko Gvardiol. The move could be made by City as a replacement for Aymeric Laporte if the centre-half departs the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Red Bull Leipzig have slapped a price tag of €100m for Gvardiol's services and BILD reports that the Bundesliga club will talk with any potential suitors if that valuation is met. Though the German side does not wish to sell the defender, City could force conversations if they stump up that amount.
