Man City stance on Joao Cancelo and Nelson Semedo swap plus more transfer rumours

Manchester City aren't interested in a swap deal involving Joao Cancelo and Nelson Semedo - according to reports.

Cancelo joined from Juventus in the summer transfer window but has struggled to adapt to life in England. The Portuguese has failed to usurp Kyle Walker as Pep Guardiola's first-choice right-back and has been limited to just eight starts in the Premier League.

Speculation has persisted over his long-term future at the Etihad as a result of his lack of game time with Barcelona believed to be interested in bringing the 26-year-old back to La Liga.

Various reports have suggested Barcelona could offer Nelson Semedo in a swap deal for the former Valencia star given both players are managed by the same agent.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim such a deal is off the table as Pep Guardiola has no interest in Semedo. Instead, the Catalan would prefer to sign his teammate Sergi Roberto who he worked with during his time at Barcelona.

As a result, Semedo is reportedly nearing a new contract with the La Liga giants. MEN Sport understand City are willing to wait for Cancelo to showcase his talents and prove his worth to the Blues.

Elsewhere, City have been told it will take €80million to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan this summer.

MEN Sport understand defence is an area of priority for Guardiola in the upcoming window and Skriniar has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Tuttosport report Inter will allow their star defender to leave the club in the upcoming window but only if an interested party makes an offer of at least €80m (£71m).

They believe the Serie A side are not actively looking to sell the 25-year-old but would take a mammoth offer under consideration.

Furthermore, they claim City and Barcelona are the two main contenders for his signature.
