Man City stance on Barcelona transfer swap for Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva

Manchester City will not be making any swap deals with Barcelona involving Joao Cancelo or Bernardo Silva.

The two Portugal internationals have been linked with a move to the Nou Camp this summer, with full-back Sergi Roberto and striker Ousmane Dembele being touted for a move to the Etihad Stadium in exchange.

But Blues sources have moved to quash any such deals, rumours that have come in the wake of Barca picking up out-of-contract City stars Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia on free transfers.

Cancelo has been eyed up by Barca but with four years left on his contract is not expected to leave City this summer, and has shown no signs of being unhappy after a fine season.

Bernardo is said to be eyeing up a move to Spain this summer, but his future will be discussed once the European Championship is over, with both he and Cancelo in the Portugal squad alongside Ruben Dias.

Reports in Spain claim that City have offered up to seven of their squad to the Catalan giants, as manager Pep Guardiola met Barca president Joan Laporta last week.

Ilkay Gundogan, Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling have all been mentioned as possible Barca targets, but City have ignored the more outrageous claims and dismissed more damaging ones like a potential swap involving the two Portuguese players.

Sterling's camp have already moved to suggest he expects to be playing for City next season, although his future will not even be discussed until after the European Championship.

Barcelona have not only been linked with several City stars this summer, they were even said to have poached club nutritionist Silvia Tremoleda - although she actually left City two years ago.
