Revealed: Man City squad for FA Cup final vs Watford

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has taken a squad of 24 players down to London ahead of the Blues' FA Cup final against Watford on Saturday evening.

Benjamin Mendy and Eliaquim Mangala were the only members of the first-team squad to not be spotted by photographers as City boarded their train at Manchester Piccadilly on Friday afternoon.

Mendy, the 24-year-old left-back, is out with a knee injury while Mangala hasn't played a game for City since February 2018.

Six players will be culled when Guardiola selects his 18-man matchday squad on Saturday. Two of those will be goalkeepers, with Claudio Bravo and Daniel Grimshaw expected to take a watching brief from the stands.

Philippe Sandler will also likely miss the cut.

Guardiola confirmed in his Friday lunchtime press conference that Fernandinho is in with a fighting chance of featuring against Watford and he was snapped arriving at the city centre train station alongside his teammates.

The Brazilian holding midfielder hasn't played for City since April's 2-0 derby win over United at Old Trafford.

Kevin De Bruyne is in contention to start at Wembley after coming on as a substitute in last Sunday's title-clinching win away to Brighton.

De Bruyne had missed the previous three weeks of action with a hamstring injury.

City are aiming to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2011 and victory at Wembley on Saturday will see them become the first English side in history to win a domestic treble.
