Manchester City signing Ferran Torres has paid his respects to Liverpool - but insists his new team are coming for their title.
The Reds were crowned Premier League champions last term and finished 18 points ahead of City.
Pep Guardiola has dipped into the transfer market this summer in a bid to bridge the gap.
Torres arrived from Valencia for around £20m, with defender Nathan Ake recruited from Bournemouth for a fee in excess of £40m.
And the Spanish winger believes he has joined a group ready to 'win every game'.
Torres, 20, said: "Liverpool are a really strong team and they have proved it in the last years.
"At the same time, I think we have a squad to win back the Premier League.
"I think there is a desire to fight. The team is ready to win every game and I see a group that can't wait to kick the ball again."
He added: “We have a group of players ready to compete against any opponent and we are able to do great things in the Champions League.
“There are fantastic players [including] the figure of [Kevin] De Bruyne.
"He’s one of the leaders of this team and probably one of the players that have impressed me the most. He’s a world-class player."
Lionel Messi was briefly linked with a potential switch to the Etihad in recent weeks, when it looked like he could be set to leave Barcelona.
But his situation has seemingly been resolved and the superstar forward is staying in Catalonia.
Torres refused to be drawn on any interest but claimed the City squad is already well stocked.
He said: "I think we have a fantastic team beyond Messi. About the potential arrival of Messi, it is not my job to make any comments about that."
