Man City sign Jack Harrison until 2022 and loan him to Leeds United

Jack Harrison has signed a one-year contract extension at Manchester City .

The deal will keep him tied to the Blues until 2022 – but the 22-year-old winger will go on loan at Championship club Leeds again next season.

Harrison had a successful spell with the Yorkshire club last season, helping them reach the play-offs, and working under Marcelo Bielsa, one of Pep Guardiola ’s favourite coaches.

He made 37 appearances for Leeds and scored four times, after some bright displays during City’s tour of the USA last summer.

Leeds reportedly wanted to sign Harrison on a permanent basis, but City value him at £20million, which ended any chance of a permanent deal.

Harrison joined City in January 2018 from sister club New York City, where he scored 14 times in 56 appearances and was named as second-best under-24 player in the MLS in 2016.

The Stoke-born player came through the ranks at Manchester United’s academy after an abortive spell at Liverpool.

But he moved to the USA at the age of 14 and became a star of college soccer with Wake Forest Demon Deacons, where he was spotted by City Football Group scouts.
