Man City set to offer youngster new deal as Arsene Wenger makes Erling Haaland prediction

Welcome to the latest edition of City Is Ours mediawatch. It might be the international break but there's still plenty to talk about in the world of Manchester City.

We're all dying to see Phil Foden in action for the club once again, aren't we? Well, judging by the latest reports we could be seeing him score goals in sky blue for many years to come, a nd there could be another talented youngster set to join him at the Etihad Stadium.

Former Arsenal manager and Premier League legend Arsene Wenger has had his say on Erling Haaland, and it makes for promising reading for City fans.

Finally, speaking in the new in-house docuseries 'City Forever', Micah Richards has been doing what he does best and sticking up for City. Good old Micah!

He's one of our own

At just 21 years of age, Foden is already a fans' favourite at City and it's easy to see why.

A lifelong City fan, the Stockport Iniesta has dazzled fans ever since he burst onto the scene a few years ago. Last season, he had his best campaign to date for Pep Guardiola's side, scoring nine goals and registering five assists as City strolled to the Premier League title.

According to the Daily Star , the England international is set to be offered a new deal at the club, with a mooted six-year contract worth £150,000-per-week ready to be tabled.

The deal would keep Foden at the Etihad until 2027 and make him the sixth City star to sign a new contract this year.

We refuse to believe that there's a single player in the City squad who fans want to see commit their future to the club more than Foden!

Haaland destined for the Premier League?

Guardiola's side are expected to enter the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland next summer along with the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, according to Wenger, City and their cross-town foes will be the favourites to secure the services of the Norwegian striker.

Speaking to German publication Bild , Wenger claimed: "The economic power of the Premier League is too strong [for a side from any other league to compete for his signing].

"English football is dominant because it is where the most money is. The best players always go the best way to make the most money."

When you consider that United signed Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year contract earlier this summer, it's certainly not out of the question that City could emerge as favourites to sign the son of former City player Alf-Inge Håland - as long as Guardiola is willing to put aside his issues with Mino Raiola, of course.

Hey Micah you're so fine!

City supporters are used to the jealous, bitter remarks of rival fans, but there's one man who won't stand for it - good old Micah Richards.

The Birmingham-born defender graduated from the City academy and went on to make over 200 first-team appearances in all competitions. Since then he's settled into life as a pundit, and his commitment to the club is clearly as strong as ever.

Speaking in the club's new fly-on-the-wall docuseries, 'City Forever', Micah has been filmed taking a swipe at City's haters.

"Because Man City have done so well in a short space of time, a lot of other clubs always want to throw stones", he said of the criticism his former club receives.

"Forget the outside noise, it's what happens between the players, all the staff that work behind the scenes and the management staff. Who cares what anyone thinks."

I don't know about you, but we reckon Khaldoon Al Mubarak needs to get a move on and commission a Micah statue.
