Pep Guardiola hailed Manchester City's 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain as one of their best performances under him in the Champions League.
And the stats suggest it was one of the most impressive displays by any team so far this season after five rounds of the group stage.
City edged Mauricio Pochettino's side for possession, enjoying 55 per cent of the ball through the contest. It was what they did with the ball that stood out though, with a whopping 94 per cent of passes being completed across the team. No other side has been more accurate than that in the other 79 matches played so far in this year's competition.
The passing masterclass was led by Bernardo Silva, who became the first outfield player on the team this season to achieve a 100 per cent success rate with his passes, finding a teammate with all 48 passes including the brilliant assist for Gabriel Jesus to score the winning goal; Ederson also managed a perfect score in the games away at Club Brugge and PSG, albeit with considerably fewer passes.
City confirmed top spot with a game to spare on top of ensuring qualification for the knockout rounds in the second part of the campaign. If the result confirmed what should be an easier last-16 draw on paper, the performance signalled that the Blues should once again be considered among the favourites to go all the way in the competition.
If they can maintain the standards they set against PSG, they will be difficult to stop.
