Man City's Pep Guardiola loses out to Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp at FIFA Football Awards

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has lost out to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at the Best FIFA Football Awards.

The German was crowned Best FIFA Men's Coach of the year at the glittering ceremony in Milan this evening, with Guardiola shortlisted alongside Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino for the honour.

The Man City boss led his side to a domestic treble last season, becoming the first male side in English football to do so.

Guardiola's side claimed an astonishing 98 points during their Premier League campaign, edging out Liverpool in the race for the tile, as well as claiming the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during a memorable season for Man City.

But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has edged out his rival after guiding his side to the Champions League in June.

The Reds produced a dramatic comeback victory over Barcelona in the semi-finals, before beating Spurs in the final in Madrid in June.

Defeated Champions League finalist, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was the other nominee in the category at the ceremony.
