Man City's Leroy Sane arrives in Germany ahead of Bayern Munich transfer

Leroy Sane has arrived in Germany to complete his transfer from Manchester City to Bayern Munich.

After over a year of speculation and a brazen public pursuit from the German champions, Sane is finally set to complete his move to Bayern after the two clubs agreed a deal worth £54.8million.

City were keen to keep the 24-year-old but a new contract offer was rejected in favour of a return to his homeland, where he will also double his money by moving to the Allianz Arena.

The deal is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours and, as reported by Sky Sports Germany, Sane has arrived in Munich to conduct his medical and ratify the transfer.

MEN Sport understand the Blues are delighted with the deal as they have made a sizeable profit on a player with a poor injury record who would have left for next summer for nothing, with his contract set to expire in 2021.

However, Pep Guardiola has admitted he would have loved to have kept the winger but his mind was already made up.

"It looks like it but it is not already done," he said of the deal in his pre-Liverpool match press conference.

"There are some little issues but it looks like he is going to go to Munich. We wish him all the best and big thanks for our years together.

"He will have another chapter at a fantastic club in Bayern Munich.

"He wanted to leave. Everyone has their own life and he decided to move on. I would have loved for him to stay but he believed he would be better and happier there."
