Man City's Kevin De Bruyne backed to win Euro 2020 Player of the Tournament

Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has been heavily backed to win the European Championship Player of the Tournament award.

While there were initial doubts over when De Bruyne would be available for Belgium after he sustained an injury in the Champions League final, the playmaker made his return to action for his nation against Denmark for their second game of Euro 2020.

Although Belgium went behind in that game, De Bruyne soon announced his return to the starting XI when seizing the initiative to create Thorgan Hazard's equaliser with an outstanding assist that sent two of Denmark's players desperately scrambling.

If that wasn't impressive enough, De Bruyne then scored his side's matchwinner when firing home with his 'weaker' foot to complete a brilliant team goal and it's perhaps therefore not surprising that his odds to win Player of the Tournament have been slashed.

Do you think De Bruyne will win Player of the Tournament? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

De Bruyne is now second-favourite to win the individual accolade, with France's Kylian Mbappe just ahead of him.

  • Kylian Mbappe - 11/2
  • Kevin De Bruyne - 7/1
  • Romelu Lukaku - 10/1
  • N’Golo Kante - 11/1
  • Antoine Griezmann - 14/1
  • Cristiano Ronaldo - 14/1
  • Ciro Immobile - 16/1
  • Paul Pogba - 20/1

Belgium are set to play Finland on Monday night in their final game of the Euro 2020 group stage.
