Man City's Joao Cancelo praises Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes traits at Manchester United

Joao Cancelo has named Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes in his all time Portuguese Premier League team, labelling the 36-year-old as the best player in the countries history.

Fernandes also came into praise and was lauded by his Portugal teammate, despite their rivalry on the pitch for their respective Manchester clubs while the City man also picked Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Liverpool striker Diogo Jota in his side.

Cancelo starred for Pep Guardiola's side in Saturday's win over United as they ended a two-year wait for a win at Old Trafford. He and also named legendary former Reds' winger Nani in his squad.

Domestically, Cancelo faces Ronaldo and Fernandes at least twice a season and are often embroiled in fierce battles in order to earn the bragging rights for the city of Manchester. But internationally they all combine, looking to guide Fernando Santos' side to success.

Cancelo picked Fernandes and Ronaldo in a 4-3-3. Andd speaking to the Manchester City YouTube channel he said: "Alongside [Joao Moutinho, I pick Bruno Fernandes. He is a player with a very strong shot, very pragmatic, a strong personality and I like his kind of player, so I pick him alongside Joao Moutinho in the midfield."

"In the left, Cristiano [Ronaldo]. Do I have to tell you why? I don't need to. The best Portuguese player of all time, it was obvious he would be in my 11."

Portugal have a game in hand over group leaders Serbia as they look to secure top spot in Group A and book their place at the Qatar World Cup, next November.

They travel to the Arriva Stadium to play the Republic of Ireland knowing a win would see them move two points clear before finishing off their campaign against the qualification rivals.
