Man City release special 125 year anniversary kit to be worn vs Liverpool FC

Man City have released a stunning 125 year anniversary  kit  which will be worn in the Community Shield final against  Liverpool  on Sunday.

Elements of the jersey were voted on by fans and new kit partners Puma have delivered with a classy retro number which is inspired by the club's rich history.

The kit is primarily light blue with a white trim around the collar and sleeves and won't feature any sponsorship logos. White shorts and white socks will accompany the jersey.

The  City  crest includes gold lettering which says '125 years' beneath it.

There's a great touch inside the neck of the shirt, too, as it contains a copy of the club's founding document which was signed by one of the club's founding fathers, Joshua Parlby.

An extremely limited edition number of shirts, 1,894, the year the club was founded, will be up for grabs as well as replica shirts for men, women and children.

The kit will be in action at Wembley on Sunday when the Blues take on Liverpool in the first game of what is set to be another highly competitive season.

The kit announcement has gone down well with fans who love the shirt.
