Man City ready to sign the 'next Neymar', Southampton expect Danny Ings to stay and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are ready to sign the 'next Neymar' according to reports.

The Blues have been linked with Kayky for months and now transfer specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed City have been working on a deal worth £8.7million plus £14.75m in potential add-ons to secure his signature.

Known as the 'next Neymar' in his homeland of Brazil, the 17-year-old winger "is expected" sign for the City Football Group with the intention of the youngster arriving in Manchester next summer.

The talented sensation has caused a stir on social media with his goals for Fluminese and it's not hard to see why, often found effortlessly waltzing past hapless opposition much his senior thanks to his quick feet and sublime skill.

While comparisons with Neymar may be daunting and premature, City are clearly great admirers of Kayky, reportedly offering the youngster a five-year contract with officials now finalising a work permit to complete the deal.

It was claimed last month by Sky Sports that City were interested in Danny Ings as Sergio Aguero's potential successor, reluctant to pay the £150m valuation for Erling Haaland and therefore looking for a cheaper alternative.

However, while the rumour seemed unrealistic at the time, mostly because of Ings' unfortunate extensive history with injuries, Ralph Hasenhuttl has since revealed that he expects the former Liverpool man to stay on the South Coast.

“Is he good enough to be an option for them? I don’t know, but I expect him to stay with us as he knows what he has with us," the Southampton boss said when asked about Ings' future and the reported City interest.

“He has one more year (on his) contract. This will be an interesting situation for him, if one of the big clubs wants him. It is always difficult for us to keep a player with us, this is normal, but I do not see this scenario in the summer if I am honest.”
