Man City prepared to walk away from Erling Haaland deal and other transfer rumours

Manchester City could face a stumbling block in their attempts to sign Erling Haaland, according to reports.

Clubs around Europe are bracing themselves for a battle to attract the services of the Norwegian talisman with a saga brewing ahead of the summer transfer window.

The rumours surrounding the Borussia Dortmund striker intensified recently as super-agent Mino Raiola stirred the pot surrounding his future destination.

"He can and will take the next step," he told Sport1. "Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City - these are the big clubs he can go to.

"City has won the championship five times in recent years, significantly more than United. When we moved to Dortmund, we all knew that this step would come."

However, Spanish outlet Sport report that Barcelona are preparing a move for the striker and whilst Manchester City hold an interest they "won't break the bank or their wage structure to do so" posing an obstacle in their pursuit.

Meanwhile, the Blues could come into some money with Pedro Perro reportedly on the verge of signing for Sporting.

According to A Bola, via Sport Witness, the Portuguese champions will pay €8.8m (£7.2m) for the 22-year-old and have agreed personal terms.

Also, it is said that a €45m release clause has also been included in his contract. He signed for City in 2019 but has yet to make an appearance for the club, enjoying loan spells with Real Valladolid and Sporting with his current suitors set to acquire him on a permanent basis.

Also, with Ferran Torres' future hanging in the balance, multiple Spanish outlets have confirmed that their drop into the Europa League will not affect their efforts to sign him.

Xavi's side failed to beat Bayern Munich in their final Champions League match and slipped into the competition where they will face Napoli in the first knockout round.

AS report that Barcelona are in pole position to sign him in January whilst Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness say his intentions to depart have not been impacted by their Champions League struggles.
