Man City 'prepared to offer £76million' for Matthijs de Ligt and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to offer £76million for Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

That's according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, who claim City are ready to table a mouth-watering offer for the 22-year-old defender. De Ligt is currently under contract until 2024, but his future is in some doubt with the Dutchman being linked with a move to Chelsea.

De Ligt has quickly established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe after bursting onto the scene with Ajax in the 2018/19 season. With Nathan Ake potentially on his way out, Pep Guardiola may be tempted to bring in a defender this summer and De Ligt could be the man he's looking for.

Sterling has been an integral part of Guardiola's success in Manchester but was convinced by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel that he can have a more important role to play in London than if he stayed at City.
