Dominant Manchester City have successfully retained their Premier League title on the final day of an exhilarating 2018-19 campaign.
Pep Guardiola's side headed to Brighton's Amex Stadium on Sunday top of the table and a point clear of Champions League finalists Liverpool, who took on Wolves at Anfield.
With the pressure on, City, who trailed Liverpool by as many as seven points before beating their rivals in early January, came from behind at Brighton to seal a comfortable a 4-1 victory and with it the 2018-19 championship.
It is a fourth Premier League title for City - who also lifted the trophy in 2011-12, 2013-14 and 2017-18 - and a considerable relief after the lead changed hands more than 30 times during the course of a captivating race.
They are the first team to win back-to-back titles since Manchester United in 2009, while Liverpool amassed the most points of any runner-up in top-flight history.
Although knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Tottenham in dramatic circumstances, City will still have the chance to complete a domestic treble at Wembley next weekend.

The Citizens, who beat Chelsea on penalties in February to retain the League Cup, meet Javi Gracia's Watford in the FA Cup Final on May 18.
