The Belgium international missed a training session on Monday after being substituted late on in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Everton.
Pep Guardiola has already confirmed Sergio Aguero will start at the Etihad Stadium after being dropped to the bench at Goodison Park.
The City boss also suggested Fernandinho will continue at the heart of defence in the absence of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.
Bernardo Silva and David Silva could also return to the starting XI having being named among the substitutes on Merseyside.
