Man City players filmed singing 'battered in the streets' version of Liverpool's 'Allez Allez Allez' chant

Manchester City players have come under fire after a video surfaced on social media appearing to show them singing a distasteful version of "Allez Allez Allez" aimed at Liverpool .

City fans have sung a version of the chant made popular by the Reds, with players now appearing to give a rendition of the song in a clip believed to have been filmed on their plane hom from Brighton after winning the title at the weekend.

The song includes lines about Liverpool fans being "battered in the streets" and "victims of it all", whilst those in the clip clearly sing a line referring to Vincent Kompany injuring Mohamed Salah earlier in the season.

The clip has led to a furious response from fans, criticising the vile song and the behaviour of City players by proudly singing it as part of their celebrations.

What Man City Champions League ban could mean for Man Utd and Arsenal

City clinched the title with their 4-1 win at Brighton after going on a remarkable run of 14 straight wins to end the season and deny Liverpool a first ever Premier League crown.

The rivalry between the two North West clubs has grown as a result of their recent success and escalated when Liverpool fans attacked the City team bus ahead of their Champions League quarter-final clash at Anfield last season.

One condition that could see Philippe Coutinho return to the Premier League

City fans came up with the song to mock Liverpool's Champions League final heartache in Kiev against Real Madrid and the fact they ended the season without any silverware.

Despite their historic campaign, the Reds are in danger of the same thing happening again after being pipped to the league title by City.

They head to Madrid for the Champions League final against Tottenham on June 1 desperate to go one better than last year.
